Request about due diligence by the Children’s Commissioner regarding Covid-19 vaccine safety for children

In February 2022 we received an OIA request asking:

1. What data was requested in the correspondence to MoH and Medsafe relating to spike protein in SARS-CoV-2 and the [covid vaccine]?
2. What information did you receive from MoH and Medsafe that convinced you of the safety of the vaccine?
3. Were any data from [three international sources named] forwarded to you?

The anonymised response to this OIA is available to download below, outlining the general process of research and review by staff at the Office of the Children's Commissioner of publicly available safety data.
