Listening2Kids - Being child-centred
Being child centred means basing decisions and actions on what's best for children .
At its core, this means: respecting that children have rights and knowing what they are; working out what’s in children’s best interests; considering how your decisions (policies, processes, designs) can impact on children; taking children’s views into account; and, finally, using all of this information to make a decision that upholds children's rights and does what is best for them.
Download our hand-out that shows how we make decisions that are child-centred, using a 5-step tool.
On the back is a picture we use to describe key parts of the Children's Convention.
