Feedback to Ministry of Health on puberty blockers consultation

Mana Mokopuna - Children and Young People's Commission provided independent feedback and advice from a children’s rights perspective to the Ministry of Health in response to its “consultation on safety measures for the use of puberty blockers in young people with gender-related health needs”.

This feedback makes clear that mokopuna and their rights need to be fundamental to any and all decision-making about their access to gender-affirming health care, and that the voices of mokopuna with lived experience, and the families and whānau of mokopuna with lived experience must be prioritised in this kaupapa.
