Submission to the Justice Committee: Sentencing (Reform) Amendment Bill

In this submission, Mana Mokopuna - Children and Young People's Commission does not support the Bill due to the likely detrimental impact on the rights, interests, wellbeing and participation of mokopuna.

This submission focuses on the specific proposed reforms which will, in our assessment, disproportionately impact mokopuna aged under 18, and/or those aged 18-25 who are care and/or custody-experienced.
